As we promised in our article, we start our journey back in time to discover the roots of Jewish cuisine in Europe. This is our first article.

In medieval Europe Jews were congregated in small villages, or in separate quarters of cities. This gave them protection and also the chance to practice religion in everyday situations. The other day I was talking to my 5 years old girl how God created the earth and humans to take care of the creation.

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them: Grow and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and over the fowls of the air, and over all the beasts that move on the earth." - Moses 1:28

We can make a statement concerning Jews and history: it is important for us! “Remember…” we can read so many times in our Holy Scripts. Roots, ancient history, our culture and of course our cooking is important. It tells us something about us, Jews. In this sense looking back to Biblical times is always full of nostalgia. Those were the glorious days!
